L’entreprise fragmentée décodée par la science-fiction

Abstract

This article looks at a form of representation of organizations that is repeatedly and consistently addressed by both science fiction and the literature in organization sciences: fragmented, compartmentalized organizations with functional hyperspecialization. Two contemporary science fiction works – the Wool trilogy by Hugh Howey and the Divergent trilogy by Veronica Roth – are used to compare and contrast how SF and organization research present the fragmented organization composed of silos.
