Abstract

Companies create their business ecosystems through platform strategies. This article explores the conditions for the emergence of this phenomenon in situations of market failures. It studies how platforms substitute market to play a coordinating role and governance of economic actors. The analysis allows to link the platforms and the concept of business ecosystems.
