L’évolution des inégalités dans l’enseignement supérieur universitaire français au XXème siècle

Abstract

Malgré l'importance des réformes entreprises sous la IIIème République, nos précédents travaux cliométriques (Diebolt, Jaoul et San-Martino, 2005, 2007 ; Daures et alii. 2007), remettent en cause le rôle historique des Lois Ferry, ces dernières ne semblant qu'institutionnaliser le processus de scolarisation amorcé bien avant leur entrée en vigueur. Partant de là, l'objectif ici est d'élargir notre analyse aux réformes de l'enseignement supérieur et plus particulièrement à leurs effets sur l'évolution des inégalités-de genre et sociales- et ceci afin de répondre à la problématique suivante : l'évolution des inégalités dans l'enseignement supérieur résulte-elle de réformes institutionnelles ou de ruptures économiques ? Nous mettons en évidence un impact différencié des ruptures politiques et des réformes institutionnelles sur l'évolution des inégalités : la baisse des inégalités de genre est plus influencée par les événements économiques généraux comme les guerres alors que les inégalités sociales sont plus sensibles aux événements internes au système éducatif.
