Abstract

En France, le déploiement de la télémédecine est présenté comme une solution pertinente à un grand nombre de problématiques du système de santé. Cet outil de production de soins à distance serait une innovation miracle, pourtant, elle ne se développe pas et la mise en place de dispositifs d'incitation n'y change rien. Dès lors, le cadre d'analyse économique standard ne permet pas de comprendre les limites de l'introduction de la télémédecine dans l'offre de soins. Nous proposons une autre théorie de l'information, celle de l'Économie des conventions. Nous interprétons alors les problèmes d'application de la télémédecine comme le résultat d'un conflit de représentation entre deux types d'organisations de la médecine : la convention professionnelle et la convention industrielle.
