South Korean System of Innovation: From Imitation to Frontiers of Technology, Successes and Limitations

Abstract

In this chapter, we use an analytical framework based on the " national system of innovation " approach to understand how South Korea acquired technological capabilities, increased the effectiveness of its national system of innovation and became a major player in many high-tech industries.
