La notion de responsabilité de l'entreprise : fondements conceptuels et utilisation managériale

Abstract

L'objet de cet article est de tenter de dissiper le flou conceptuel qui entoure la dimension managériale de la responsabilité de l'entreprise. Considérée par certains comme le nouveau paradigme du management des entreprises, la notion de responsabilité globale est en de nombreux égards ambiguë. Les difficultés liées à sa définition et à ses postulats de base résultent d'une rupture entre la conception juridique et morale de la responsabilité et son utilisation managériale. L'expression même de "responsabilité globale" fait violence au langage en favorisant un malentendu. Il ne faut pas se tromper de responsabilité car les actions des entreprises en faveur de l'environnemental ou du social renvoient davantage à une intégration stratégique des pressions des partenaires de l'entreprise qu'à l'intégration de principes moraux par un sujet autonome.
