Abstract

Is internet a simple stage, or a profound revolution, in the general evolution of the art and science of management? The goal of this paper is to present a synthesis of several years of observation and reflection on the new “space of freedom” resulting from the adoption of the internet. After having evaluated the current stage of development of this sector through the analysis of the performance or some of its key players, we discuss the incidence of these technologies on dimensions such as: information, education, commerce, investment, and, industry. Finally, we suggest a few directions for future development and the associated opportunities.
