La Vulnerabilidad de los hogares a la pobreza en el Perú, 2004-2014

Abstract

En la última década el Perú ha atravesado por un periodo de rápido crecimiento económico, acompañado de una espectacular reducción de la pobreza de 37 puntos porcentuales. Sin embargo, la desaceleración observada en los últimos cuatro años han llevado a interrogarse si dicho crecimiento ha permitido consolidar una clase media librada definitivamente del riesgo de caer nuevamente en pobreza o si por el contrario aquellos hogares que dejaron la pobreza volverían a ella en un contexto macroeconómico aún menos favorable. Nuestro estudio busca llenar un vacío en la literatura respecto a la vulnerabilidad de los hogares a la pobreza en el Perú empleando un enfoque dinámico. El concepto de vulnerabilidad adoptado la define como el riesgo o la probabilidad ex-ante para un hogar de pasar de una situación de no pobre en el periodo inicial a una situación de pobreza en el periodo siguiente. Siguiendo la propuesta metodológica de Dang & Lanjouw (2014), estimamos un índice de vulnerabilidad, analizamos sus determinantes y construimos líneas
