Accidentes de tránsito por sectores de la malla vial: caso Bogotá en 2018

Abstract

En este estudio, se fusionan diversos conjuntos de datos administrativos, para estimar los determinantes de las probabilidades de accidentes de tránsito en lugares específicos de la red vial de Bogotá en 2018. Se encuentra que: (i) la distancia al semáforo más cercano y el número de carriles no tienen un efecto significativo en la ubicación de los accidentes en el norte de Bogotá; (ii) es menos probable que ocurran accidentes cuando se aumenta la distancia a las estaciones de TransMilenio. Además, los accidentes a alta velocidad son más probables en el norte, especialmente en los tramos de la vía. Se insta a los responsables de políticas a considerar estrategias a largo plazo para mitigar las externalidades negativas del transporte.
