Acceso a los servicios de salud en las principales ciudades colombianas (2008-2012)

Abstract

Este trabajo estudia cuatro elementos del acceso a los servicios de salud en cinco ciudades de Colombia: 1. Necesidad del servicio médico, 2. Tiempos de espera para la cita, 3. Utilización del sistema y 4. Satisfacción con el servicio. El análisis se hace a partir de los datos de las Encuestas de Percepción Ciudadana de los Programas Cómo Vamos. Los resultados muestran que la mayoría de personas percibe que el tiempo entre la solicitud de la cita y la atención es de uno a cinco días; sin embargo, cada vez más personas consideran que los tiempos de espera han aumentado. Así mismo, el porcentaje de personas que se sienten satisfechas con el servicio se ha reducido, siendo las ciudades de Barranquilla y Cartagena las que registraron mayor población satisfecha. Finalmente, se encuentran diferencias en las barreras de acceso para cada ciudad, siendo las más comunes la falta de dinero y el mal servicio.
