Consumption/Nutrition Factors in AID Impact Evaluations of Agricultural Research, Rural Roads, Rural Electrification, and Water Projects

Abstract

The following report looks at the consideration given consumption and nutrition impacts in impact evaluations of AID sponsored projects in ten developing countries. Project activities are categorized into four areas: agricultural research, water resources, rural electrification, and rural roads development. Agricultural Research Projects (Case Study: Kenya – Kitale Maize: The Limits of Success -- Case Study: Small Farmer Cropping Systems Research at the Center for Tropical Agricultural Research and Training (CATIE)) --- Water Projects (Case Study: CARE Water Projects in Tunisia -- Case Study: The Potable Water Project in Rural Thailand -- Case Study: Philippines Small Scale Irrigation) --- Rural Electrification Projects (Case Study: Rural Electrification in the Philippines -- Case Study: Bolivia Rural Electrification) --- Rural Roads Projects (Case Study: Impact of Rural Roads in Liberia -- Case Study: Rural Roads in Thailand -- Case Study: Rural Roads in Honduras).
