Abstract

Excerpts from the report: This is the first attempt to bring together in a single volume a classified list of active research projects in agricultural economics and rural sociology for a particular year in Federal Bureaus, State Agricultural Experiment Stations, and independent institutions. The list probably falls short of completeness in both number of projects under way in the United States and interesting details. Since the close of the fiscal year, some of the projects listed have doubtless been completed or revised and others initiated. The present list includes a total of 816 projects, comprising 286 from the Bureau of Agricultural Economics, 4 from the Bureau of Home Economics, 500 from the State experiment stations, 1 from the Children's Bureau, United States Department of Labor, and 25 from independent institutions.
