Abstract

While public authorities in the criminal justice system require compliance with laws and regulations, stakeholders in society require both compliance as well as conformance with norms and values. The term stakeholders refer to individuals, groups, and entities that have a vested interest in or are affected by the activities and decisions of an organization. They can play a significant role in shaping the operations and outcomes of the organization. Stakeholders can include customers, employees, shareholders, vendors, local communities, government agencies, and many more. Stakeholders can help companies reach their objectives as well as prevent companies from reaching their objectives since stakeholders protect their own interests.
