Abstract

This third myth, free trade and globalization will “lift all boats,” and end poverty (Ibid., World Trade Observer, 1999), has been trumped since the Bretton Woods agreement of 1944. It is true the rich millionaires and billionaires are getting richer in an upward global spiral of wealth accumulation since Bretton Woods, and this is even continuing since the 2008 financial meltdown…
