Ethical Content Curation

Abstract

This chapter explores the history of content curation and how it applies in a social media context. Chapter 10 also investigates the theoretical underpinnings of content curation and the difference between content curation and content aggregation. The chapter also focuses on the steps to curate content in an ethical and legal way with a strong focus on sourcing accurate information to avoid issues such as: copyright breaches, plagiarism, legal proceedings, reputational damage and loss of social media followers as a consequence of spreading mis/disinformation.
