Third Places

In: The Future of Work

Abstract

In the work context, public places that provide a suitable environment for workers to carry out their social and productive activities are referred to as Third Places. These Third Places complement the company location and home office, and expand the workplace flexibility of employees. This article presents the concept of Third Places and its current significance. The advantages and challenges associated with the use of Third Places are discussed from the perspective of both companies and employees. Suitable solutions to these challenges are proposed. The article concludes with a summary and an outlook on future development trends.
