Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die Fachschule blickt im System der höheren beruflichen Bildung auf eine lange Tradition zurück, die in die letzte Dekade des 20. Jahrhunderts zurückreicht. Während traditionell die Ebene der mittleren betrieblichen Führungskräfte adressiert wird, führen neue Fortbildungsberufe bspw. im Bereich Sozialwesen zu veränderten Perspektiven durch Arbeitsmarktzugänge in einem den Bachelorprogrammen des Hochschulsystems vergleichbaren Niveau. Der Beitrag gibt einen Überblick über rechtliche Rahmenbedingungen, didaktische Leitvorstellungen und aktuelle Herausforderungen an das Fachschulsystem in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland.
