Abstract

Zusammenfassung Eben weil Franchising nicht auf den schnellen Profit zielt, ist Nachhaltigkeit eine unabdingbare Voraussetzung für den langfristigen Erfolg eines Franchisesystems. Ursprünglich meinte der Begriff Nachhaltigkeit ein Handlungsprinzip zur Ressourcen-Nutzung, etwa in der Forstwirtschaft: nachhaltig ist, was ein System auf Dauer aushält, ohne Schaden zu nehmen. Längst ist Nachhaltigkeit allerdings auch eine Trendvokabel, die gar nicht selten für Dienstleistungen oder Produkte missbraucht wird, die alles andere als nachhaltig sind. Im Franchising geht es nun darum, in allen Dimensionen – also ökonomisch, ökologisch und sozial – nachhaltig zu denken und zu handeln.
