Abstract

Like all media and the society as a whole, sports media are undergoing a transformation. Media are confronted with critical reactions from the audience. Storyporting is the offer of a new developed method of presentation in sports journalism. Storyporting can combine serious, effective storytelling with fact-based, solution-oriented analysis and concrete future scenarios, which leads to perspective-rich, constructive reporting and trust building. In this paper we present a pilot study that examines the usefulness of storyporting in the field of sports journalism using qualiative expert interviews. The findings support the usefulness of storporting in the field of sports journalism.
