Abstract

Zusammenfassung Crowdfunding ist eine Variante von Online-Fundraising, mit welcher unter anderem Non-Profit-Organisationen (NPO) Projekte finanzieren können. Die Finanzierungs-Kampagnen haben meist einen vorbestimmten Zielbetrag und eine fix definierte Laufzeit. Crowdfunding-Plattformen treten online als Vermittler zwischen Geldgeber und Geldnehmer auf. In der Schweiz wird Crowdfunding von NPO noch wenig eingesetzt. Bisher nutzten vor allem Privatpersonen und Vereine Crowdfunding für die Finanzierung von Projekten mit nicht-kommerzieller Ausrichtung. Das Finanzierungsvolumen solcher Projekte betrug in der Schweiz im Jahr 2018 etwa EUR 14 Millionen.
