Multi-Level Digital Business Model Transformation

Abstract

Zusammenfassung Zunächst werden die wesentlichen Merkmale von Pipeline- und Plattform-Geschäftsmodellen verglichen. In der Folge werden die verschiedenen möglichen Schritte einer Geschäftsmodelltransformation beschrieben sowie die typischen Transformationshürden und -treiber für die Digitalisierung von Geschäftsmodellen hergeleitet. Darauf aufbauend wird ein Konzept eines sogenannten mehrstufigen digitalen Geschäftsmodells als Besonderheit einer digitalen Geschäftsmodelltransformation entwickelt und auf Basis einer branchenspezifischen Fallstudie im Maschinenbau validiert. Die Autoren zeigen, wie eine digitale Geschäftsmodelltransformation neue Geschäftsmöglichkeiten und Kunden mit großen Synergieeffekten für das bestehende Kerngeschäft einer Branche generieren kann.
