Abstract

Zusammenfassung The investigation of how Blockchain, a decentralized transaction and data management technology, can disrupt industries and business models is increasing in both research and practice (Friedlmaier, Tumasjan & Welpe, 2018; Iansiti & Lakhani, 2017). The potential of Blockchain is not limited to cryptocurrencies but expands to other applications, such as smart contracts, Internet of Things (IoT) and smart properties (Min, 2018; Sun, Yan & Zhang, 2016). The logistics industry in particular provides promising opportunities for new business models (DHL Customer Solutions & Innovation, 2018), and started to gain traction from an increasing number of supply chain executives, who consider deploying Blockchain technology (Min, 2018).
