Abstract

Summary The increasing integration of logistics chains within and between companies offers significant cost advantages, albeit at the expense of higher complexity and loss of transparency. Supply Chain Controlling based on holistic Corporate Performance Management is an approach for restoring clarity. Actual relationships with suppliers can be automatically monitored and documented on the basis of ARIS PPM. A Management Cockpit permits automatic graphic localization and flagging of weak points in the logistics network for further optimization. Evolving the in-house reporting system towards end-to-end process benchmarking with a CPM-based solution approach is then the logical next step to create the basis for establishing Logistics Process Management. Purchasing and procurement thus become the “enabler” for the logistics ability of a company.
