Abstract

It is widely recognised in the EU that irregular work is more common in agriculture than in many other economic sectors. Among direct or indirect policy measures employed to tackle irregular work, “Quality Agricultural Work Network” (QAWN) represents an interesting approach to produce a ‘whitelist’ of compliant farmers with labour conditions. This work focuses on a plausible QAWN certification to ensure a premium price for certified “fair work” farm products. It aims to investigate consumers’ interest for QAWN certification. To pursue this goal, we conducted a survey on a sample of 324 Italian consumers.
