Abstract

This paper aims to address a knowledge gap related to Innovation Support Services (ISS). The study represents a first step towards the development of a common understanding of ISS to enable all Member States to organise feasible and integrated services, as required by the Regulation (EU) 2021/2115, establishing rules on support for strategic plans to be drawn up under the common agricultural policy (CAP). The study provides an easy-to-understand definition of the main specificities of ISS, the functions carried out and the competences needed to provide services in support of innovation.
