Abstract

This case study explores how Shengdu Home Furnishings Co., Ltd. (Shengdu) managed to maintain positive sales during the sudden outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in early 2020. It describes how the company relied on its employees to deliver needed medical supplies to affected areas. Through internal donations and fundraising activities, it was able to purchase and deliver supplies to these affected areas. At the same time, the company recalibrated its business model and strategy, moving all of its activities online. As a result, it remained fully functioning in the midst of the global pandemic. The company relied on three main sales channels during this time: WeChat marketing, online live marketing, and its own SaaS system for online transactions. By doing so, Shengdu improved its work efficiency and, importantly, achieved a strong sales performance in February 2020.
