Abstract

It is of great importance for the success of Data Governance that Data Governance and its processes within the company organization are understood and lived by all those involved. To achieve this, the company and its employees must not only internalize the processes, but also understand how the value contributions of Data Governance are made. Both points need to be explained and require correspondingly clear structures and process models. The development of an operating model for Data Governance provides the appropriate basis for this. In this chapter, we discuss the necessary basics of an operating model and show the different starting points for companies with a line or matrix organization. We then develop exemplary process models for the introduction and regular operation of Data Governance, thus creating a direct practical reference that you can transfer directly to the application of Data Governance.
