Abstract

5G is supposed to be provide massive new business opportunities for both the industries and the telecommunication providers. Basically this is true, however current focus is still on mobile broadband and not yet on critical services like autonomous driving or machine to machine type of communication. Hence there are various challenges to be done, by standardization but also by cooperation in between the players in the market. Today’s opportunities which have already substantial and relevant business cases in place are based on merging chances of the telco development towards low latency and towards a virtualized network and on the combination with new type of ‘terminals’ like AR or VR glasses or drones. To get the power embraced into a new Eco system partnerships may need to be developed.
