Abstract

In the course of digitalization, the cards in the telecommunications industry are being reshuffled. Network operators in particular face unprecedented challenges. In this article we present a model for the derivation of strategic market scenarios for the telecommunications industry and apply it to the German telecommunications market. The scenario Heterogeneous Powerplay is the most advantageous one for network operators. We identify seven levers telcos have to use in order to turn this scenario into reality and to win the race against OTTs.
