Abstract

This chapter discusses the impact of Enterprise Governance of IT on business/IT alignment. The first question that is answered in this chapter is how an organization can measure and evaluate its current state of business/IT alignment. This discussion is supplemented by providing insights on the relationship between Enterprise Governance of IT and business/IT alignment. The chapter ends with a section on the contextualization of business/IT alignment (i.e., a multidimensional perspective on business/IT alignment, and social (business/IT) alignment).
