Abstract

In Part I we have considered the major elements of company profitability and therefore the factors contributing to the success of the business: generating sales revenue; managing gross margins; managing the operations of the business to generate a contribution to profit and overhead and the management of cashflow for operational and strategic purposes. We also considered the important topic of economies of scale, an issue which influences the management decisions concerning both the size and characteristics of the business.
