Adapting a Project in Real Time According to Events and Micro-Events

Abstract

The strategy of the lateral project is not about modifying the project to meet some hypothetical demand as a one-off initiative, and then managing it as if all the problems had been solved. On the contrary, the project is managed by putting the energy of the players first and technique second — and doing this for the total lifetime of the project. Each day brings new actions and new events to react to, and one must then ‘lateralise the lateral project’. The project must be adapted in real time taking into account current conditions on the ground.
