Abstract

This chapter explains the scope of the book, summarises the main arguments and highlights the key conclusions. It introduces concepts and defines key terms, including entrepreneurship, coordination, market-making, gains from trade, segmentation, linkages, and strategy. It compares economic theories of entrepreneurship with conventional economic theories of the market and argues that the former are much more flexible, and therefore more realistic, than the latter.
