Abstract

This chapter starts from the observation that the notion of the “innovation network” suffers as a result of both industrialist and technologist bias. Through a systematic review of the literature covering the period 1990-2020, it aims to report on the state of our knowledge of a relatively new expression of the notion, namely the Market Services Innovation Network (MSIN). Its review of the 89 articles identified focuses in particular on the identification and definition of MSINs, the types of innovation they carry, their structure, how they are created, operate and evolve, and their outcome/performance.
