Determinantes del rendimiento escolar de los adolescentes en zonas urbanas desfavorecidas

Abstract

Este trabajo analiza los factores explicativos del rendimiento académico de los adolescentes residentes en zonas urbanas desfavorecidas con objeto de evitar el fracaso escolar y mejorar el aprendizaje. Para ello, se analizan las variables internas más significativas de los principales actores de la educación (alumnos, profesorado y familias) y se reflexiona de forma más genérica sobre los factores externos (centro escolar y comunidad educativa). De forma especial se estudia el papel de las nuevas tecnologías TIC en el proceso de aprendizaje y como instrumento de ayuda para mejorar los resultados escolares. El estudio se ha realizado utilizando la metodología de encuesta a alumnos de primero y segundo de bachiller del centro I.E.S. Palomeras-Vallecas, localizado en la zona sureste industrial de Madrid, en el año escolar 2015-2016. Los resultados muestran que el éxito escolar está unido, entre otros, a factores como el correcto empleo de las nuevas tecnologías, implantación de metodologías basadas en aprendizajes significativos y por competencias.
