Führungswechsel: Die Wirtschaftselite und das Ende der Deutschland AG

Abstract

In der Diskussion um Bestand oder Auflösung der Deutschland AG geraten die Führungskräfte der deutschen Wirtschaft zunehmend in den Mittelpunkt des Interesses. Saskia Freye beleuchtet die sich wandelnde Zusammensetzung der deutschen Wirtschaftselite über mehr als vier Jahrzehnte. Ist in dieser Zeit ein Markt für Vorstandsvorsitzende entstanden? Und hat sich in den Führungspositionen ein neuer Typ des Managers durchgesetzt? Ihre Ergebnisse zeigen, wie sich die Karriereverläufe deutscher Industriemanager seit den späten 1980er-Jahren deutlich änderten und wie dieser Prozess mit den Veränderungen innerhalb des deutschen Kapitalismus zusammenhängt. Erkennbar wird dabei, dass die moderne Orientierung hin zum Finanzmarkt und das dauernde Streben nach Gewinnoptimierung die klassische Produktionsorientierung innerhalb der deutschen Industrie mehr und mehr verdrängt.
