Autozulieferer: Partner auch in der Krise? Lieferantenmanagement bei Toyota, General Motors und Volkswagen

Abstract

Ein Risiko der aktuellen Wirtschaftskrise ist, dass partnerschaftliche Beziehungen zwischen Herstellern und Zulieferern auf der Strecke bleiben. Überwiegend erhielten deutsche Automobilhersteller bisher nur befriedigende Bewertungen bei ihren Zulieferbeziehungen. Demgegenüber gilt das Lieferantenmanagement von Toyota als vorbildlich. Darauf kommt es an, denn Outsourcing und niedrige Löhne sind nicht das Erfolgsgeheimnis von Toyota, sondern die Fähigkeit, die Beziehungen zu den Kunden, Mitarbeitern und den externen und internen Lieferanten kooperativ zu gestalten. Die Verringerung der Wertschöpfungstiefe und neue Wertarchitekturen, die hierzulande die Diskussion beherrschen, sind für den Branchenprimus Toyota kein Thema. Die Wertschöpfungstiefe der Toyota Gruppe liegt über Jahrzehnte unverändert bei über 70 Prozent. US-Automobilhersteller wie Chrysler, Ford und General Motors waren mit dem Outsourcing ihrer vormals internen Zulieferer wenig erfolgreich. Das Partnermodell stand nur auf dem Papier und die Beziehungen zu den Zulieferern verschlechterten sich sogar. Darin kann ein Grund für die notorische Krise der amerikanischen Automobilindustrie gesehen werden. Europäische Unternehmen wie Volkswagen und BMW gehen eigene Wege zur Entwicklung einer Komponentenstrategie. Noch vor wenigen Jahren sollten auch bei Volkswagen Komponentenwerke geschlossen oder verkauft werden. Inzwischen setzt man dort verstärkt auf die ganzheitliche Zusammenarbeit mit externen und internen Zulieferern. Es hängt viel davon ab, diese Strategie auch in den Turbulenzen der aktuellen Finanz- und Wirtschaftskrise zu bewahren.Der Beitrag liefert einen internationalen Vergleich zum Management der Hersteller-Zuliefer-Beziehungen in der Automobilindustrie in Japan, Europa und den USA und analysiert Komponentenstrategien, insbesondere auch für den bisher vernachlässigten Bereich der internen Zulieferer.
