Abstract

Die Schwarzmeerregion gewinnt aufgrund ihrer geographischen Nähe, der Rohstoffvorkommen und des Absatz- und Arbeitskräftepotentials zunehmend an Bedeutung für die EU sowie für Österreich. Die Arbeit aktualisiert die wichtigsten Ergebnisse der vom WIFO 2010 vorgelegten Analyse der makroökonomischen Entwicklung der Region sowie der außenwirtschaftlichen Beziehungen Österreichs mit dem Schwarzmeerraum. 2010 expandierte die Wirtschaft in allen Ländern der Schwarzmeerregion wieder, die stärkste Dynamik verzeichnete dabei die Türkei (BIP real +8,2%). Der österreichische Warenexport in die Schwarzmeerregion entwickelte sich nach dem Einbruch in der Wirtschaftskrise ebenfalls wieder sehr günstig (2010 +33%). Im Dienstleistungsbereich wuchs der Export in die Türkei besonders kräftig, auch die Direktinvestitionsflüsse österreichischer Unternehmen in die Türkei waren 2010 überaus rege.
