Les faillites d'entreprise au Canada

Abstract

Les taux de faillite sont en hausse au Canada. Près de la moitié des faillites au Canada sont principalement attribuables à des lacunes de l'entreprise plutôt qu'à des problèmes qui échappent à son contrôle. Ces entreprises n'ont pas acquis les compétences de base essentielles à leur survie. Les lacunes en matière de gestion ainsi que le manque de débouchés pour leur produit ont causé leur perte. La présente étude laisse entendre que, à tout le moins dans une large mesure, les problèmes de financement de l'entreprise sont tributaires des lacunes des gestionnaires plutôt que des facteurs externes associés à l'imperfection des marchés financiers. De nombreux faillis ont du mal à obtenir du financement dans les marchés financiers; cependant, il convient de souligner que bon nombre d'entre eux éprouvent également des problèmes internes (par exemple, les gestionnaires méconnaissent les différentes options de financement).
