Abstract

Un ejército capaz de generar desde su interior procesos de transformación autónomos es un ejército consciente de la trascendencia de su función y comprometido con la efectividad de los postulados constitucionales que delimitan su actuación: ese es el Ejército Nacional de Colombia, una institución capaz de repensarse, de orientar y reorientar sus estrategias para adaptarse a contextos cambiantes, manteniendo incólumes los principios democráticos que determinan su existencia. Esta convicción y la inquebrantable decisión de ser un actor crucial para la garantía de los derechos de los colombianos desembocaron en la creación del Comité de Altos Estudios para el Fortalecimiento Institucional -CAEFI-. Este Comité ha llevado a cabo las investigaciones que se ofrecen en la presente colección, Ejército, Institucionalidad y Sociedad. La obra recoge los esfuerzos institucionales de consolidación del proceso de profesionalización de la Fuerza y desarrolla el mandato constitucional de impartir formación democrática y en derechos humanos a sus integrantes.
