Alternative Indikatoren zur Messung von Flächeneffizienz

Abstract

Die Nachhaltigkeitsstrategie der Bundesregierung sieht vor, den „Flächenverbrauch" in Deutschland (gemessen an der zusätzlich in Anspruch genommenen Fläche für Siedlungs- und Verkehrszwecke) bis zum Jahr 2030 auf weniger als 30 ha pro Tag zu verringern. Gegenüber dem aktuellen Wert (58,3 ha pro Tag im Jahr 2020) stellt dies nahezu eine Halbierung dar. Bis zum Jahr 2050 sollen sogar netto überhaupt keine Flächen mehr für Siedlungs- und Verkehrszwecke neu in Anspruch genommen werden („Flächenkreislaufwirtschaft").
