Geografía económica y análisis espacial en Colombia

Abstract

"Una de las áreas de la teoría económica que ha adquirido importancia en los últimos años es la geografía económica. Se puede observar que las actividades económicas tienden a concentrarse mayoritariamente en unos pocos lugares, generando procesos de encadenamiento que refuerzan y perpetúan esas tendencias. Es por ello que el estudio de la geografía económica adquiere importancia al momento de entender el proceso de desarrollo de un país. El análisis espacial es una de las herramientas recientemente utilizada para estudiar las actividades en el espacio. Esta técnica permite una aproximación cuantitativa al análisis geográfico de datos mediante el uso de rigurosas técnicas estadísticas. La evolución del análisis espacial ha ido paralelo a los avances que recientemente se han dado en los sistemas de información geográfica. El análisis espacial permite detectar, mostrar y explicar los patrones espaciales más importantes que se encuentran en un grupo de datos localizados en el espacio."
