Abstract

Belonging to the family Cucurbitaceae, snake gourd is a summer-season vegetable with numerous health benefits, making it a highly preferable crop within the Cucurbitaceae family. It is cultivated as a climber crop during sunny climatic conditions. Despite its demand, snake gourd production has not been commercialized in Nepal, primarily due to the unavailability of quality or hybrid seeds. This review aims to guide farmers and support researchers in advancing commercialized farming and hybrid seed production for snake gourd.
