Vom BIP-Flash zum BIP-Nowcast: Erste Ergebnisse einer Machbarkeitsstudie zur weiteren Beschleunigung der BIP-Schnellschätzung

Abstract

Das Statistische Bundesamt testet derzeit im Rahmen einer Machbarkeitsstudie, ob eine weitere Beschleunigung der Schätzung des Bruttoinlandsprodukts (BIP) auf t+10 Tage nach Ablauf eines Quartals möglich ist. Eine solch frühe Schätzung wird als Nowcast bezeichnet und unterscheidet sich sowohl methodisch als auch in der Datengrundlage von der BIP-Flash-Schnellschätzung nach t+30 Tagen. Der Beitrag gibt einen Einblick in den aktuellen Arbeitsstand der Machbarkeitsstudie und erläutert Unterschiede und Gemeinsamkeiten von BIP-t+10-Nowcast und BIP-t+30-Flash. Außerdem stellt er erste vorläufige Ergebnisse der Machbarkeitsstudie vor und skizziert mögliche Weiterentwicklungen für künftige Phasen der Machbarkeitsstudie.
