Der Bildungswandel in Österreich in den neunziger Jahren

Abstract

Während die Aufteilung der Schüler auf allgemeinbildende höhere Schulen und Hauptschulen in Österreich längerfristig äußerst stabil ist (ein Drittel zu zwei Drittel in den achtziger und neunziger Jahren), wandelte sich das Bildungsverhalten nach der Pflichtschule in den neunziger Jahren deutlich. Einerseits verlängerten mehr Jugendliche die Ausbildung über die Pflichtschule hinaus, andererseits verlagerte sich die Ausbildung nach der Pflichtschule weg von den mittleren Schulen, insbesondere der Lehre, hin zu höheren Schulen. Heute absolvieren etwa 34% der Jugendlichen eine Lehre (44% der Burschen und 22% der Mädchen), 14% besuchen eine mittlere Fachschule und 42% schließen mit einer Matura ab. Etwa 20% der Jugendlichen besuchen danach die Universität.
