Strategische Aspekte der Tourismuspolitik unter globalen Wettbewerbsbedingungen. Ansatzpunkte zur Verbesserung der österreichischen Wettbewerbsposition

Abstract

Vor dem Hintergrund der Diskussion über die Reduzierung der Staatsaktivitäten bzw. des wachsenden Rechtfertigungsdrucks der Verwendung von Steuermitteln und die Zersplitterung der Tourismusförderung auf viele Entscheidungsträger und Sachbereiche wird vorgeschlagen, die knappen Fördermittel auf die wichtigsten Schwachstellen wie Innovations- und Kooperationsträgheit zu konzentrieren und eine ordnungspolitische konsistente Tourismusförderung zu betreiben. Die Erzielung eines hohen Qualitätsstandards auf Destinationsebene ist dabei eine wichtige Nebenbedingung. Durch die grundsätzlich überbetriebliche Orientierung der Tourismusförderung wird die Kooperations- bzw. Destinationsbildung erleichtert, sodass Größen- und Verbundvorteile realisiert werden können. Zur Effizienzsteigerung der Förderung und Optimierung der Koordination ist eine Zusammenfassung der verschiedenen Förderstellen sinnvoll.
