Technologieströme in der österreichischen Wirtschaft

Abstract

In Ergänzung zu den traditionellen Wissenschafts- und Technologieindikatoren verwendet die OECD seit einigen Jahren Maße des totalen F&E-Gehalts von Outputströmen. Dieser umfaßt neben den direkten Ausgaben für Forschung und Entwicklung auch den F&E-Gehalt der heimischen und importierten Vorleistungs- und Investitionsgüter. Das WIFO legt erstmals Berechnungen des totalen F&E-Gehalts für die österreichische Wirtschaft vor. Für eine kleine offene Volkswirtschaft sind die an Importe gebundenen Technologieströme von besonderem Interesse. Der grundlegende Wandel des Musters der Technologieströme zwischen 1976 und 1994 illustriert die Entwicklung Österreichs zur Knowledge-based Economy.
