Marktchancen der österreichischen Industrie

Abstract

Eine Analyse der Wettbewerbsfähigkeit der österreichischen Industrie zeigt Strukturschwächen, die eine nachhaltige Etablierung Österreichs in der Gruppe der führenden Industrieländer bislang verzögern: die Überspezialisierung auf arbeitsintensive Industriezweige bei gleichzeitiger Unterspezialisierung auf forschungsintensive Industriezweige sowie die ungenügende Positionierung im Qualitätswettbewerb auf dem Weltmarkt. Obwohl die österreichische Industrie im internationalen Vergleich zu klein ist, um in ganzen Industriezweigen bzw. -sektoren Marktführerschaft zu erreichen, eröffnen sich potentielle Marktchancen insbesondere in Segmenten mit bereits starker Kompetenz und Marktposition, in Nischenmärkten von High-tech-Industriezweigen sowie auch in traditionellen Zweigen mit aufgewerteten Produkten.
