Estructura de la negociación salarial e incentivos a innovar

Abstract

Este artículo analiza el efecto que la secuencia en que se negocian los salarios tiene sobre las decisiones de las empresas de adoptar nuevas tecnologías ahorradoras de empleo. Mostramos que, si el coste de la innovación es suficientemente grande, hay al menos tanta innovación con negociación secuencial como con negociación simultánea. Si el coste de la innovación es suficientemente pequeño sucede lo contrario. El coste de la innovación depende, a su vez, de los parámetros del modelo: el tamaño del mercado, el incremento en la productividad del trabajo de la nueva tecnología y el salario de reserva de los trabajadores.
