Una nota sobre segmentación del mercado de trabajo en Chile: reconsideración de la evidencia empírica

Abstract

El objetivo de esta nota es reevaluar la evidencia de los estudios econométricos sobre segmentación y determinación de ingresos, que han enfatizado la competitividad y homogeneidad del mercado laboral chileno. Utilizando la misma información empírica, pero corrigiendo los test estadísticos, se obtienen resultados diametralmente opuestos, demostrando que la determinación de salarios difiere entre los distintos sectores de actividad económica. Esta nueva evidencia constituye un apoyo empírico a la hipótesis de segmentación del mercado laboral chileno.
